Stefanini Joins Automation Alley Technology Business Association

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 21, 2012 – Stefanini (www.stefanini.com) today announced that the company has joined Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology association.  Joining over 1,000 members dedicated to technology in Michigan, and continuing to expand the company’s presence in the region.

Stefanini moved its North American headquarters to Michigan following the 2010 acquisition of TechTeam Global. As a Brazilian-based company, Stefanini is an emerging technology leader with a true global reach, bringing its IT outsourcing services, and specialty staffing expertise to established technology leaders and business startups who are Automation Alley members.

Within the last year, Stefanini has added about 50 local jobs, hiring new employees and transferring some positions from its Florida office. Stefanini now employs over 450 in Michigan.

Stefanini has been recognized by a number of industry-watchers as a new leader in IT outsourcing. The company’s founder, Marco Stefanini was named as one of the most influential professionals in nearshore outsourcing by Nearshore Americas (www.nearshoreamericas.com), and the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) also named the company to the leaders category in 2011.  Fast Company recently named Stefanini in its 2012 annual Most Innovative Companies issue as one of the top 10 innovative companies in Brazil.

Additionally, the company focuses on strengthening the business and trade partnership between the US and Brazil.  In April, Marco Stefanini joined other Brazil business leaders for the US-Brazil CEO Forum at the White House with President Barack Obama. Created in 2007, this Forum promotes trade between Brazil and the United States, with representatives of the government and the private sector of both countries. Marco Stefanini is a member of the sub-committees responsible for education and innovation initiatives to further the exchange of best practices between Brazil and the US.

“Stefanini’s growing presence here in Michigan – reinforced by our decision to join Automation Alley -- is an important part of the company’s long-term success and our commitment to customers in the US,” said Antonio Moreira, North America and APAC CEO. “Stefanini is proud of its track record as an active and involved member of its communities around the world. Many of our existing clients are major employers in Michigan, and we are proud to be a part of a resurgence in new and established technology in Michigan.  We look forward to working with Automation Alley to support business, workforce and economic growth in the region.”
